Goshen NY Lions Club Presents: Diabetes Awareness Walk

Saturday, June 7, 2025 – Join us in support of children with type 1 diabetes.

In dedication to our mission of community service, the Goshen NY Lions Club proudly hosts a Diabetes Awareness Walk on Saturday, June 7, 2025. This meaningful event aims to raise awareness about type 1 diabetes and provide life-changing opportunities for children living with the condition.

Why We Walk
Funds raised from the event will help send children to Camp Nejeda in Stillwater, NJ—a specialized camp offering education, empowerment, and community for kids with type 1 diabetes. At Camp Nejeda, children learn how to manage their condition, build confidence, and form lifelong friendships in a medically safe and supportive environment.

Event Details
📍 Start Location: St. James Place, Goshen, NY
⏰ Check-in Begins: 8:00 AM
👕 Includes: T-shirt pickup, diabetes information booth, and registration
🚶‍♀️ The Walk: Participants will walk/run a 2.5-mile stretch of the scenic Heritage Trail toward Chester, NY, turning around at the golf driving range to complete a 5-mile roundtrip. Participants may choose to complete the full 5 miles or turn back at any point.

How to Participate

-Invite friends, family, and coworkers to join your team
-All registration fees and donations go directly to supporting Camp Nejeda campers

Local businesses and community members are encouraged to get involved through sponsorship.

Support can include:

-Volunteer time

All sponsors will be recognized during the event and featured on Goshen NY Lions Club communications.
